San Antonio Tea Party: What A Day!
We had only one ugly incident, a man with a crude hand made sign that said "save white America". I couldn't get the cops to get him out of there, he had the same freedom as the rest of us, afterall. I did go up to him and tell him his sign was offensive, to which I received applause from attendees within earshot. One lady came to the table asking us where the GOP table was? We told her this was a non-partisan get-together, so they would not have a table. A young man wearing a pro-Obama t-shirt came by the table to ask us a few questions "trying to understand what this was all about". He was very polite, and we happily answered his questions, including "What did you think when Bush signed the original TARP bill" to which we obviously answered we were against as well. That seemed to have surprised him. Here are some views from yesterday.

Wish I could have taken a picture from atop one of these buildings, because this just doesn't show you the size of the crowd.

This was taken 2-3 hours before "show time"!

My friend Carolina, from Colombia, is quite an artist for being a robotics engineer.

How better to illustrate "pork"! Some folks really got into it! Note that it was not all "white"!

The Alamo is sacred ground, and there were not people in front of it, though this looks like it.

We had a very diverse crowd, and it stayed very peaceful and had a "party" atmosphere.

Some got into the original spirit of the party.

Some would have you believe this was child abuse. She loved posing, and her hands say "see how special I am"!
Our committee documentors (who filmed it all for a documentary I'll post when it is done), estimate the crowd at 15,000. The local paper downplayed it to 5,000.

This is where I spent most of my day, signing up folks with their e-mails. This was a beginning, not the end of this movement. We are building a database so we can stay in touch. Our next event will probably be on Independence Day, July 4, 2009. We are the formerly silent majority that is quiet no more! Steve Vaus proudly played this for us on the 15th. We must take America BACK!

Excellent! Great pics.

I attended the tea party in Providence RI. There were about two thousand people there according to the press. It was a peaceful, family event with great speakers. If leftist New England can do a tea party, there is hope!

Very cool, Dagney, and I'm glad you got to go! Nice pics. I wasn't able to make the on in my area.
Yes, I think we've got a movement here. Obama and the Dems have overplayed their hand. More to come, I'm sure.
