Rebuilding The GOP

The movement is on to rebuild the GOP party, but it's anyone's guess whether a Reaganesque party or a "moderate" version will emerge.  Judging from some of the comments left here, it's anybody's guess as to how it will pan out in the coming years.  My vote is for the conservatives to win, but the "blue blood country club" (as termed by Rush) may push their moderate agenda.  As shown by our most recent election results, it's not the way to win elections!  The good news is that some of the powers-that-be seem to "get it", i.e., without technology and internet savvy, this is a fight you cannot win!

"The power of traditional connections is being replaced by the power of mass connectedness. Politics is taking place on a grander stage than ever before, with millions, and not just tens of thousands — participating directly in the process. Millions of people can not only vote, but they can organize with each other across geographic boundaries to build political power in real time. Their sheer scale allows them to rapidly outflank traditional power brokers in a way that simply wasn't possible before.

The Republican Party can no longer survive in a modern era if we resist this new reality. With our power in Washington waning, our grassroots are the source of our greatest strength — not a problem to be managed. To revitalize ourselves, we must invite the crowd back in and tap their energy and creativity."

This is the good news.  The bad news, in my mind, is that Michael Steele has not yet endorsed this new direction.  C'mon, Michael!  I spoke with you this morning on the "Morning in America" show, and had I known this at the time, I'd have asked for your endorsement!  Those listed at the site are from highly regarded groups including Townhall, Wizbang and Red State

After all, conservatism works every time it is tried, which is why the Democrats move right during all of the recent elections!  Even the uber-liberal Marxist posing to take over our White House is attempting to sound more conservative!

Good report! I think it is too early for the possible candidates to declare the degree of conservatism they prefer. It's time for a wet finger in the air for them.

In the meantime, I would urge all of them to read or reread the "Conscience Of a Conservative" by the man I proudly voted for way back then - Barry Goldwater. It should be must reading in all schools. It is short and sweet. He basically discusses our Constitution's amendments and the impacts of all the changes we have illegally made via judges, agencies, etc, Easy reading and gripping, at least for me. I found the book at one of the box stores and cannot remember if it was Sam's or Costco. ( It's hell growin old.) DO READ it if ya'll haven't.

This just shows that you are stupid enough to watch Katie Couric. If you knew anything about Sarah Palin, you would know she has been reading every newspaper or news magazine she could get her hands on since she was 10 years old, including Goldwater's book! Her interview with Couric was edited horribly and if you are still watching her you are probably in your 80's!
