Removing Obama's Largest Talking Point
"In 2002, as an Illinois legislator, Obama voted against the Induced Infant Liability Act, which would have protected babies that survived late-term abortions. That same year a similar federal law, the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, was signed by President Bush. Only 15 members of the U.S. House opposed it, and it passed the Senate unanimously on a voice vote.
Both the Illinois and the federal bill sought equal treatment for babies who survived premature inducement for the purpose of abortion and wanted babies who were born prematurely and given live-saving medical attention."
Even ultra-liberal Barbara Boxer voted for this bill! His vote is essentially a vote to sanction infanticide! Since Roe v. Wade, abortion rights has been a signature topic on top of the Democrat's list. My generation, baby boomers, can remember a time when we knew of women who'd undergone back alley abortions, a la "Dirty Dancing", and they're panicky over the selection of Sarah Palin for VP choice. She is obviously very pro-life, having just given birth to a Downs Syndrome baby, 90% of such babies are aborted, sadly. They are angelic gifts from God, which you know if you've ever known a Downs Syndrome person. Judging by some of the moonbat females with hairy underarms protesting in St. Paul this past week, they are afraid Roe v. Wade will be overturned under a McCain-Palin administration, and they will no longer have control over their reproductive rights.
Which brings me to the reason for this post; I want to reassure my generational friends who are conservative pro-choice, and to all the Democrat women with any logic or common sense [the moonbats will never pay attention to facts], that there will never be a time in America where women will have to resort to back alley, coat hangar abortions. Here's why;
1) Roe v. Wade will eventually be overturned because it is bad law. The job of SCOTUS is to interpret the Constitution. Period. End of job requirement. In the case of Roe v. Wade, they found "right to life, liberty," et al to mean a "woman's right to choose". Balderdash! What about the right of the child in the womb? HELLOOOO!
2) Abortion rights should be a state's decision. Once Roe v. Wade is overturned, states will then have the right to pass their own laws. Some states will say "only in the first trimester" [my personal choice]. Others will be like Illinois was; go ahead and let the baby die after a botched abortion attempt.
Now, can we please stop the hissie-fitting hysterics and get behind our first woman VP? Thank you.

Only one candidate has the courage to take a conservative stand on abortion, and that is Palin.

As a woman well past her reproductive age, there was a time when I felt I may turn to an abortion and wanted that option. I still am of the opinion that a choice is reasonable if in the first trimester and the woman feels this is the path she wants to choose. And guess what? I have never voted for a Democrat for President. And guess what? Roe v Wade still stands. The Republicans have not sent women to the butcher in the alley for abortions. And guess what - it ain't gonna happen! I am of the opinion that women are smarter than to be one issue voters. Vote for the party that will keep this country safe, strong and free. That is John McCain. If we lose America to the likes of Obama, abortion will be the last thing on our minds. And guess what? God help us then.

Palin would like to outlaw abortion for everyone including cases of rape and incest. This is just depraved. I know that some anti-choice people feel that two wrongs don't make a right. Perhaps not, but it will actually result in many more wrongs to illegalize these abortions.
Think about that future America where abortions are illegal. There will be multiple cases per year where a woman will be raped and impregnated by her attacker. Since she cannot be legally get an abortion she may turn to an illegal abortion. If she and the doctor are later arrested for this abortion they could both end up in jail while potentially the rapist goes free since he was never apprehended. So two people go to jail, neither one of them being the rapist. That is an appalling outcome and one reason I will never support an anti-choice candidate. These people have no idea how difficult this decision is. Or how intensely personal this decision is. Of course there need to be limits on how late abortions can be done. Ideally, they should never happen at all which is why proper sex education is so important. Abortion is a horrible concept but to illegalize it won't make it go away, it will just make it a whole lot more dangerous for desperate women and their doctors. Rich women will go to Canada or abortions. Poor women will stay here and get illegal abortions by people who may not even be doctors. People, think things through before you try to force the world to live by your values.

You obviously did not read points 1 & 2. To repeat...verrryyyy slowly; abortion will never be illegal in America, but hopefully with huge limits on it! BTW, your third comment was deleted for profanity reasons. It would be fun to get a card carrying liberal, except none of you know how use reason or logic in your arguments, and refuse to actually read the post through to the end.
