How Do You Define Leadership?

In two words, Bobby Jindal!  I was watching him, as I type, on Fox News giving directions, answers to questions, and thank you's to neighboring states who are assisting New Orleans & all of Louisianans...in stark contrast to the former governor!  Gov. Jindal is redefining responsibility in Louisiana.

Kathleen and Nagin refused to call for en mass evacuation during Katrina.  Their irresponsibility was akin to a suicide bomber who decided "the death of innocents" will be a means to an end!  In this case, the vilification of President Bush!  Every death was blamed on Bush and his administration...with no mention of the lack of Louisiana's governor and New Orleans Mayor's refusal to follow President Bush's implorings to have the areas evacuated!  Will someone tell me what's the difference in sacrificing innocent citizens to the ravages of Katrina, and sacrificing innocents in a market square by hooking up a mentally retarded Iraqi to a bomb, sending her/him into a market square, and remotely detonating the bomb?

Hate does not equal leadership.  As a friend of mine observed recently, "I can see a Palin/Jindal ticket in the future", and I replied, "Woooohooo!  Reagan times TWO!"

I'd also define talent as Sarah Palin.

But I guess you know that at this point!

Speaking of New Orleans, I am amazed that FEMA (the Fascist Emergency Management Authority)has yet to declare all of the region a flood plain and declare it off limits for habitation for anything other than the Caribbean Monk Seal(an endangered species identified as living in the Gulf of Mexico). As a RealtorĀ® in the Great State of Michigan, I have seen in my 20 years of experience, people who have had to purchase flood insurance and/or who have not been able to develop their lands as they would wish to do as a result of FEMA identified flood plains or wetlands, and Michigan will NEVER experience the kind of water devastation that has been wrought in New Orleans over the past three years or more. The cost to the American taxpayers for evacuations and resettlements, the repair to infrastructures, buildings and homes is exorbitant. We The People should not be burdened with these costs just so that a group of people can continue to live below the sea level. (Another great cause to consume my time ... when will I ever get my condo cleaned? LOL)

I could not agree more with Janice regarding New Orleans. As taxpayers we have to at some point call it quits and let the waters have it. There are plenty of things that need to be done with our money in this country, and for one city to consume so much of our resources is unfair to the rest of the citizenry. I appreciate it is home for people, but unless they are willing to pay for the upkeep of it, then it's time to let go. New Orleans is becoming that great description of a swimming pool - it's a hole in the ground you throw money in. How many fixes will we be required to make?

NO conservative is against her being the vp choice. The first one to raise the child rearing issue was John Roberts of cnn BEFORE she was formally announced. Better start checking your sources and who they work for. Ever hear of Dobson?
