Earth To McCain!!!!!
I know, you're a "maverick", so I guess you just plain do not listen to anyone, even if they're being reasonable, right? However, I received a call from your campaign headquarters last Saturday morning and the young man told me he just wanted me to know that donors only have until Sept. 4th, if memory serves me, to donate to your campaign. My immediate and heated response was, "AND WHOSE FAULT IS THAT??????? EVER HEARD OF MCCAIN FEINGOLD?" I haven't had a call since, but today I did get an e-mail bragging about your recent donations. Thought I'd share with the readers my response;
Senator McCain, the news has not been optimistic
about your choosing a conservative pro-life running mate, and it has me very
concerned. Tom Ridge is a family friend, but I would not recommend him to be
your running mate. His voting record while a congressman is not stellar, and he
is not pro-life. While I agree with Joe Lieberman's war stance, he's just as
liberal as Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid on other issues. I have many MANY friends
who will not, cannot in good conscience vote for you if you choose someone like
them, and will choose Bob Barr or the Constitution candidate instead.
This scares me out of my wits. America cannot
afford an Obama presidency. Please do not believe that conservative pro-life
Americans are tied to you. They are not.
Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska, would make the
perfect candidate. Here are my reasons for suggesting her;
1) She is pro-drilling in ANWR. Unlike you, she
knows it is basically a wasteland & not the Grand Canyon, and drilling would
only increase the caribou in the area. They like the warmth of such
installations to copulate (look it up). If ALL Republican candidates would
promise to drill, we could earn back the House and the Senate!
Democrats are suffering too. As my husband likes to tell anyone listening, it
isn't just the cost of gas, it's our national security at stake. Our oil
dollars are funding terrorism, and Putin's takeover of democratic states in the
Baltic region.
2) She recently gave birth to a Downs Syndrome
baby, which she knew would be Downs Syndrome. Barack Obama has voted against
the "Born Alive" law three times! Many women would choose a late abortion when
they learn the child will be Downs Syndrome baby, she did NOT! It would tie the
pro-life voter to you like nothing else!
3) Stop believing, please, not for just your
success, but for the sake of the country that you need not court the
conservative vote. Conservatism wins everytime it's been tried!
I have not contributed as yet to your campaign.
Nor have a great many of my friends. Nor will we, until you have made your
decision on a CONSERVATIVE running mate. If you would like to see the $25 mil
look paltry, pick a Sarah Palen, a Ken Blackwell, a Michael Steele, a Mitt
Romney as your running mate, and stand back!
Despite Huckabunny's recent attempts via the drive-by media to convince everyone that conservative evangelicals would not/could not vote for a McCain/Romney ticket, I have not encountered anyone with that problem, and I deliberately left out his sorry name. In the entirety, I was much nicer that I am on this venue, don't you think?
