My Own Little Miracle

I returned from the Holy Land, Israel, today.  My head is stuffed full of so many sights, sounds, insights, and emotions I cannot possibly put it all into this one post, especially with the onset of jet-lag.  Instead, I must relate my own little personal miracle experienced in Israel.  I always wear a Soldier's Angel pin...wherever I am, or whatever I am doing.  The trademark insignia of Soldiers Angels is so striking that folks often ask me what it signifies.  It presents me the opportunity to invite folks to do what they can to help our beloved warriors fighting the GWOT.

While in Israel, I experienced members of my own group asking me about the pin, even though they knew I was active in a soldiers' support group.  The angel insignia in the Holy Land tends to prompt that sort of inquiry.  It took about 3 days for me to notice that the insignia did not require "upright correction".  Silly, I know, but the weight of  the wings of the Angel with the embedded soldier often needed to be turned upright as it is mounted on a single post.

But not in Israel.  Nope.  The Angel apparently "knew" which side was UP!  Not one single time while I was in Israel did I have to turn the pin upright.  It STAYED upright!  I shared my little miracle with my tour group in a "debrief" meeting after a long exhausting day.  Every day after that someone told me, "Wings are still UP".  And indeed they were.
