Democrats At War Over Race

The title of this post is taken from Rush Limbaugh's show today, and he got me to thinking about my own personal history.  My father and brother always knew there was one word that would send me into orbit, from the time I was ten years old...or younger.  It was the "n" word.  Daddy & Bro would bring it into conversations where they were trying to bait me; via a joke, a comment, a quip; using that one hated word.  They knew I'd go ballistic, and I faithfully complied.

[Oh, by the way, in case you are new to this blog, Dagney's Rant has been online for about 5-6 years, first at my blogspot.com location, and now here.  This is a point I've made before....ad infinitum].

What has infuriated me with the Hillary Clinton Shrillary Rotten's comments of recent note were her denigration of MLK's contributions to the civil rights struggle, and the elevation of LBJ's contributions.  Senator Johnson, before he was President Johnson after Kennedy's assassination, had voted the civil rights legislation down for 20 years!

So why, you may ask, did he finally sign the legislation as President?  Public pressure, and a strategy.  After he signed welfare legislation that essentially broke up the black family, he bragged to fellow donks that he'd just tied the "n words" to the Democrat party for at least 50 years.

He has not been far off the mark...until recently.  Along came Barack Obama.  Mr. Obama has forsaken the old school Jesse Jackson/Rev. Sharpton/Charles Rangel types.  In my opinion, this has been the reason he has been so successful with the black community overall.  They know, whether they are conservative or liberal, those guys have done nothing for anyone.  All they do is promote a continuation of racism that most real Americans do not experience, or feel, or buy into!  I mean, here I am in South Texas...a region I firmly believed, having grown up in Southern California in the 50-60's, I would not live EVER because I thought everyone was a racist!  When I got here, I was amazed how wrong my upbringing and background was...or was I just convinced by the drive-by Media.  I believe it was the latter.

I have a bumper sticker on my car that says, "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could."  A half-century ain't nuthin', right?  Bottom line, I have seen no sign of racism here in south Texas, though I'm sure there are still individuals whose black hearts harbor it.  That's their problem, it is not America's problem.

The real problem for present day Democrats is that they are having to face their past.  The history of Senators Al Gore, Sr., Lyndon Baines Johnson, Robert KKK Byrd, et al, are having to pay the piper....via Shrillary Rotten & Barack Obama's historic contest.

Isn't life lovely?  Or as Marines would term it, pay back's a b!tch.

Beautifully stated. I was the same way. You couldn't get me angrier. Well, it's a tie between that and lying to me.

If they give McCain the nod, I'm thinking about voting for Obama. At least I'll know it's a Democrat in the White House. Not someone who wants to destroy everything Ronald Reagan and others have fought so hard and long to put together. Let NO MAN TEAR IT ASUNDER!
