How To Be A Democrat
As you know, if you're a regular here, I do not forward e-mails. I "go you one better" by publishing them. Here's one that capsulizes all the issues that I've spotlighted here over the years;
Hello Everyone:
I'm not a big mail forwarder, but now and then I get one that rattles my
intellect a bit. This is one of them. With election season closing in on us
and with many conservative bashers on the loose, I thought you may want to
review this list which showed me very clearly and simply where the
Democrat's stand on many moral issues of our day. If I offend anyone, I
apologize for the offense but not for what I believe. Don't be
deceived...know the candidates and party YOU are voting for.
22 WAYS TO BE A GOOD DEMOCRAT
IT'S NOT SO HARD. EVEN A CAVE MAN CAN DO IT....
1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on
demand.
2. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments
create prosperity.
3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens are
more of a threat than nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese and
North Korean communists.
4. You have to believe that there was no art before federal funding.
5. You have to believe that global temperatures are more affected by soccer
moms driving SUVs than by scientifically documented cyclical changes in the
earth's climate.
6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial, but being
homosexual is natural.
7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal
funding.
8. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach fourth graders
how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.
9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony
activists who have never been outside of San Francisco do.
10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually
doing something to earn it.
11. You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of his own money
to make The Passion of the Christ for financial gain only.
12. You have to believe that the NRA is bad because it supports certain
parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports
certain parts of the Constitution.
13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.
14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more
important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Edison, and
Alexander Graham Bell.
15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial
quotas and set-asides are not.
16. You have to believe that Hillary Clinton is normal and is a very nice
person.
17. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked
anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge.
18. You have to believe that conservatives telling the truth belong in jail,
but a liar and a sex offender belonged in the White House.
19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag,
transvestites, and bestiality should be constitutionally protected, and
manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.
20. You have to believe that illegal Democratic Party funding by the Chinese
Government is somehow in the best interest to the United States.
21. You have to believe that it's okay to give federal workers the day off
on Christmas Day, but it's not okay to say "Merry Christmas."
22. You have to believe that this message is part of a vast right wing
conspiracy.
Ready to vote?
That last question begs an answer. If you are a conservative, whether a Democrat conservative or a Republican conservative, you really need to go over this list of questions again. Then look at the voting record, the public record, the published records of your "candidate of choice", and see if any to the above questions have been addressed by that candidate. McCain supporters, you first!

Seriously -- all you do is name call. all you do is create a divide. The "hard-core" republicans are the most vulnerable to your hateful speak of the democrats... Most people don't chose to learn they chose to reinforce what they believe even if it's wrong. If you publish this stuff just to get hits to your site then WOW MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
By the way The ALCU is not a "liberal" group. They defend all civil liberties... Give me a break. Your talking points are played out, tired and boring. Do you want to persuade a democrat to go to your side? Of is this just your way of stroking your ego?

The difference between your post and the "rules" listed in the orginal posting are that you name called and the list gives the positions the Democrats (Green Party, and more) have traditionally had.
I must say that it must have struck a nerve for you to use the terms you did. Could you please point to a place where a name is being called as opposed to policy differences that libs have with conservatives.
By the way, the note doesn't say anything about the ACLU being "liberal" does it. It just says that liberals think the ACLU is great because it "protects" certain "rights" in the Constitution, but the NRA is bad because they support a different part of the Constitution. This is not calling them liberal-it's stating a fact.
Again, I think a nerve has been hit if you see the list as name calling as opposed to listing policy differences.

I could go line by line and post links to NY Times or Washington Post news articles for probably everything on that list, but you wouldn't care and probably wouldn't even go to those links, so why waste my time. This response seems to be fairly typical of what I've observed from the left (even if the commenter would not claim to be a part of the left) -- just respond by calling names, and not by addressing the issue differences. It's interesting that "Goldie" does not recognize that the offense he/she is accusing Republicans of is the same one he/she is committing. Or perhaps there is just no serious response that comes to mind for them.
And if you really lined up the civil liberties that the ACLU fights for, you would most certainly see a deficit in the column where religious liberties and other conservative positions reside. The ACLU appears to be very selective in what liberties it cares to protect and defend.
Be assured that there is no hate on my part in these comments... just a sadness and disappointment at the continual degrading of our culture from all sides. But this is balanced by a hope for what we can still achieve to promote an uplifting atmosphere for all.

The ACLU's statement of purpose is something you really need to read, Goldie. They have been trying to take away our freedom of religion by calling it freedom FROM ALL religion. They have a strictly socialistic agenda that is undeniable.
Your points 1-6 are your perception, and have no reality basis. I do not "name call", I quote chapter and verse, with documentation, everything I post. If you truly believed in your precept; "Most people don't chose to learn they chose to reinforce what they believe even if it's wrong. ", then you have not followed those links.

I do not see any sense in replying to you because you are not rational. However, just to address #1 in the post. It is a fact that most Dems/Libs who are against the death penalty are fine with abortion being legal. I can list name after name of celebs and politicians who have been public on their stand FOR a "woman's right to choose" and AGAINST the death penalty. However, it wouldn't phase you, so why waste my time?
I pray that God gives you the peace that you seem to desperately need. It's obvious that you are very angry and only God can take the hate from your heart.

With a moniker like "Ste. Goldie", I must assume that you are a female. The idea that you use "Ste.", the female French for "saint" is interesting. Keeping "our" religion from you doesn't seem to be working in your case, or you would not have used that title...or not.

It has always amazed me how liberals use the word "hate" for conservatives. Conservatives are people who believe in an individual's right to succeed, to fail so they can learn how to win, and to be the very best they can be.
Liberals believe the government should do everything "for" people, without realizing that a government big enough to give you everything (insurance, education, subsidies for everything) is also big enough to take everything away. ..not to mention all/most of the things in the list above.
Because conservatives do not agree with you, we somehow become "hate-filled". Check out which group gives more to charity, Goldie. You'll find that lib's idea is to take your money, and have the government do it. Conservatives are there...at charities, at fund raisers, whenever and wherever their help is needed.
As for the Son of God, I will not discuss Him with you, because you do not seem to understand the depth and breadth of his Majesty.
