So Much For Predictions!
I went to San Antonio's Saturday Morning In America luncheon today. What a great group of politically savvy ladies! It was begun by a group of ladies in Philadelphia as a way for fans of Dr. Bill Bennett's Morning In America radio show, locally on KLUP AM radio station, to get together & talk about real issues. It has since spread across America, and is growing very fast. Our group started out as 6 ladies who met at a member's home, and as of today has grown to 21...just since September '07. My first meeting was in October, and I knew it was for me...as one lady told me today, they're "my peeps"! I was able to tell Dr. Bennett's listeners about today's meeting on the program yesterday, and as a result we netted three new members. Listening to Dr. Bennett is the only requirement for membership, until today. One of the new members "doesn't get up that early", so we explained how she can have 24-hour access to the program. I know he gained another member/listener!
Just thought I'd report the results of our "straw poll", in case I can't get through to report to Bill. He's getting harder and harder to call, as his listeners increase. We wrote down our top three choices in order of preference, not really easy in any of our cases either, I might add. We scored the #1 choice with 3 points, #2 with 2 points, and #3 with one point. Results are as follows:
Romney: 32
Thompson: 22
Guiliani: 13
Hunter: 11
Mc Cain: 4
Notice anyone missing? Yep! Huckabee! Not a single vote! As I've pointed out before, Huckabee is NOT our guy! He's the media's guy. There is not a dime's worth of difference between him and Jimmy Carter. As for the McCain votes, no one ever owned up to them. I'm sure my end of the table were not the culprits voters, as we were all asking "How can anyone not remember McCain-Feingold?" Now I'm going back to watching the returns....c'mon Thompson! I can still hope....right?

Hunter dropped out of the race, but I guess you know that by now. What a bummer.

I'm for Romney. I would'nt mind seeing a Romney, Fred Thompson ticket. I think it would be an unbeatable ticket. What say you?

They would be a great ticket, I just do not see the two egos working together. It would take a Cheney, i.e., someone with an "America First, Ego last" attitude, to go with either of them. They are few and far between. Cheney is a rare and treasured gift to America to the extent that will not be realized for another generation or two. I digress, insofar as the ticket to which you are referring...sorry.
I'm not convinced Romney [as much as I like him and his credentials] is electable.
