An Entrepreneurial Idea

Merry Christmas, my friends!  We actually had our Christmas celebration yesterday morning.  It was mostly due to scheduling, as my oldest grandson, now 18, had to go to work.  We gathered at 7:30 a.m. to share gifts and laughter before he had to head off to work for a very long day of last minute gift shopping for folks wishing to buy games and movies before today.

As is our habit, hubby and I flew home today, the Official Christmas holiday.  The idea is that "no one flies on Christmas Day"...or so it has been in the past.  Not so this year!  Everybody and their cousin had the same idea, and the result was "gridlock" as one United Airlines attendant called it.  Our connection cities were Phoenix (going) and San Francisco (coming home), so our chances that weather would cause delays were minimized.  It worked out, and we were home by cocktail hour.  The problem?  Because it is Christmas Day, our vet's office was closed, and we could not pick up our "boys".

Munchkin & Dubya had to spend another night away from home.

Long story short, here's an idea for pet boarding facilities; create a facility wherein a family can pick up their precious pets no matter what hour of the day or night they arrive home.  Using a credit card, a time-lock mechanism, a family could arrive at the facility during non-business hours to pick up their "baby/babies" to take them home.  With today's technology, it shouldn't be that difficult to achieve such a facility.  The result would be folks like hubby and I not having to come home without the critters, and feeling like a very important part of their lives are missing.  If you've been reading this blog for awhile, you probably know that my job before retirement was a business consultant and entrepreneurial trainer.  So there you go!  An entrepreneurial idea that would be a marketing plus for your pet boarding business.  If you decide to give it a go, I hope you'll comment and let me know how it helped your business.

God's blessings upon you, and I pray y'all had a Very Merry Christmas!
