Disgruntled Firemen Do Not Convince Me

A small group of disgruntled firefighter union members are trying to "Swift Boat" Rudy Giuliani, but it just is not working for me.  I watched their attempt to dissuade folks like me who like Rudy as a possible POTUS.  They failed.  Their movie first of all ignores all of Rudy's other accomplishments, like cleaning up New York City's cess pool of drugs, crime and porn shops, lowering taxes, and putting a backrupt city into black numbers again; not to mention him telling a Saudi prince where to put his money!

The point of their piece is to convince us that because the firefighters radios did not work on 9/11 is enough to condemn Rudy for all time.  Excuse me, but they admit that the police department radios DID work.  Why didn't the fire department buy the same radios?  Their other big complaint was the calling off of the recovery work.  A grieving nation was trying to get back to normal.  I feel bad that they did not, or could not in some cases retrieve remains, but it just does not disqualify Rudy for POTUS.

I don't trust anything produced by a union, whether it is a firefighters union or not.  The very few handful of people appearing in this video cannot convince this outside observer that they are representative of the majority of NYFD.

I have to agree that Rudy could hardly as black as they'd like to paint him at this point...but what are we seeing besides the politics of personal destruction? Damn the idea of debating ideas and concepts...let's just destroy the man's image and make him un-electable.

I have a lot of respect for Rudy G...but given a choice between him and Mr. Thompson at this point, I'd have to say that I'd be voting for the man from Tennessee. I hope that the Republicans/Conservatives are able to get control of the issues and the base in order to keep the White House free of those that would sell this country down the river. In spite of what we might think of Mr. Bush at this low point in his presidency...he's still a damned sight better than any performance the Shrillary could put together. I better not get any guff from anyone about that idea. IF I do, I'd have to toss the BS flag from my pocket.

    Via con dios, mi amigos.

See you on the high ground.

The "rank and file" firemen in NYFD BOOO'd the Shrillary on stage...Sean Hannity had the audio on it today.

As soon as Thompson announces, and his website offers a link, I'll put him on this site as well. He would be a great communicator, but his overall administrative ability concerns me. He's a conservative, Rudy's a moderate, they'd make a fabulous ticket!
