Another Great Day, and Some News Chuckles
The reason the station contacted me is that one of my fellow Fisher House volunteers knew employees at the station, and she related to them that story of our attempts to fly the family of an El Salvadoran soldier to America to be with him as he heals from his wounds acquired while fighting in Iraq.
Here is a picture of him, and another volunteer who spends two days a week putting together the pieces we need to do to get the job accomplished;

Armando will have to undergo a minimum of another 7 months of treatment. We're excited that his healing will accelerate when he has his beloved family around him.
Two stories on Drudge today gave me the chuckles (I'm too old to giggle). The Democrap candidates latest pandering event is one of them.
"The debate will be conducted with a live audience in Los Angeles. On the panel questioning the two Democrats will be Human Rights Campaign president Joe Solmonese and singer Melissa Etheridge.
The debate was put together by LOGO and HRC.
"In the 2008 presidential election, issues of concern to the LGBT community have already been at the forefront of the national conversation,” said Solmonese.
"From the repeal of “Don’t ask, Don’t Tell” to the recent signing of a civil unions bill in New Hampshire, there is no doubt that voters will demand answers to important questions affecting our community."
The panelists in a statement said they plan to cover a range of issues including relationship recognition, marriage equality, workplace fairness, the military, hate crimes, HIV/AIDS and other important issues.
The LGBT vote is considered a decisive electoral force and according to exit poll data make up approximately 4 percent of the voting population."
LGBT; (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Trans-sexual) will be the very folks who will be the first to be put to death by our enemies. Do y'all really want cut & runners to take care of your safety? It really is not a good idea. Ever ask a Muslim what he/she thought should be done with folks like you? It ain't pretty!
Another fun story is Cindy Sheehan's announcement that she will be challenging Pelosi in her district. Now just that fact alone is funny, but when you realize that a mental midget like Cindy actually has a chance to win in San Francisco is hilarious! I have said it before, I'll say it again, we need to fence off that entire segment of the continent.
John McCain has had his share of the news recently, all alluding to the death of his campaign. That part is not funny. It's a bit sad for this true American hero. The funny part is that the drive-by media seem to want to blame it on his stance on Iraq. They know little or nothing about what is important to those of us who live here in fly-by country. Here is a message to you drive-by folks: Senator McCain lost us with McCain-Feingold campaign law that limits freedom of speech, then drove us further away with his Kennedy-McCain amnesty bill!

Congrats!
Oh, and a fence is not enough. I've been saying for a long time now that Lex Luthor had it right decades ago -- mine the San Andreas fault and set CA adrift in the Pacific!
