Interesting Discovery

Saturdays are one of my volunteering days at the Fisher House.  When I get there at 9:00 a.m., the front door is still locked, but I know that folks will be up, in the kitchen, fixing breakfast.  So I just take a stroll toward the Center for the Intrepid, and walk around back to the doors off the den to enter the house, rather than ringing the doorbell and waking someone.  Whenever you walk in the arcade area between the CFI and the two new Fisher Houses at BAMC (Ft. Sam Houston), you cannot help but notice the bricks displaying the names of all of those Americans who donated money to build the state-of-the-art facility that is the Intrepid.  [Watch the program in that link, and you'll see other examples of the picture below.]

Imagine my surprise when I noticed this brick;

When I saw the family al-Bader, Ali, Salwa and Rashaid, I was pleasantly surprised.  Are you?

    Yes, I am glad to see them there. I don't know if I was exactly surprised though. We know too many people who really do want to get rid of these people who are torturing them, real torture. Have a great day.

    Imagine my suprise when I found this blog! I am the youngest daughter of Ali and Salwa, Rashaid is my eldest brother. Being from Kuwait, now more than ever it is important to show our support for the brave soldiers who are wounded while liberating others. We will never forget the heroes who risk their lives to protect others. Thank God for them.

      Essa, the Center for the Intrepid, for which these funds were donated is a state-of-the-art therapy and prosthetic production center. The only real education it does is teaches our wounded warriors to use their new prosthetic limbs, and teaches those of us around these heroes the true spirit of America!

      It is my joy to post this kind of post on my blog.
