Now This Is EXCITING!
While reading the comments at ITM, after their latest post about their home being searched by our troops, I was reading the comments and came across this site. First, here's the comment I'm referring to;

On march 17 in Washington D.C. there was an anti-war demonstration that was organized by the moonbat leftists. It was the forty year anniversary of a likeminded demonstration during the Viet Nam war.
Some of these moonbats had threatened to deface some of the war memorials, especially the Viet Nam wall memorial. This was finally too much for some of the Viet Nam veterans to take. In short order they organized a counter demonstration called, "A Gathering of Eagles." Thousands of veterans showed up on motorcycles, buses, and automobile caravans. Needless to say, the anti-war demonstration did not go as they had planned. They could not deface and destroy anything. All they managed to do was to look utterly stupid. The MSM downplayed the counter demonstration, but it had the desired effect. The moonbats got shut down.
Now a vastly larger event is in the early planning stages. It is gaining momentum rapidly, and it has more than three months to be organized. This is a conservative event called, "Operation America Rising." It is a grass roots operation that will be held nation wide in every state Capitol city across the USA. It is totally about support for the US troops and the war effort in Iraq. It will probably be the largest mass demonstration in the history of the US. It will be held nationwide on July 7, 2007.

I wanted so bad to go to the counter-rally in D.C., but could not convince hubby, who is allergic to crowds. Normally, I am not too fond of them, but when they are like-minded, as this one will be, I'm all for it!
Here's what it's all about:

"Operation America Rising" will take place on 7-7-07 in every capital city in America at the same time. There will be prominent speakers and entertainers. Children and adults will be gathered together saluting America's finest. This national salute to our troops will be a gleaming observance of America's patriotism. People of all ages will show our troops that we are behind them and their mission and that we are not the silent majority any more. "
I wanted to go to the Gathering of Eagles so bad I could not see straight, but was unable to convince hubby. Since this one is being centered in all the State Capitals, and I live 60 miles from our State Capital, Austin, I will be there, with or without hubby! We need a rally so big, so broad, so spectacular, that the drive-by media cannot ignore it! We need a raterlly so big that Nancy (going to Syria) Pelosi cannot ignore it. We need a rally right under their noses so they will stop saying "America wants out of Iraq" without adding "after we win there, and not before"! (This looks fine in draft, but published, it looks a bit odd.)
