They Hate This Trend!

While the Democrats argue and harangue in attempts to get us out of Iraq before we succeed there, news from Iraq is coming out that they'd better hurry and get us out before we win.  They're in a frenzy...why?

First we learn that Iran, and their partner in crime, Moqtada al Sadr (who slinked back to Tehran) are losing their Iraqi support;

"While Iran couldn’t secure a majority support in Iraq’s political arena, it definitely secured enough clout to impede the secular democratic project. This costly -in lives and treasure - policy could, in the minds of the mullahs, force America to forsake her goals in Iraq.

That, at least, was the plan. But a number of interesting developments in Iraq in the last few weeks may mark the beginning of failure for Iran’s plan. The developments listed here were collected from both large and small stories in local Iraq newspapers. Perhaps none of them are significant alone, but putting the pieces together allows one to sense that a sea change is underway in this country and the tide is moving against Iran." Iran and Monkey Boy are Shi'ia...one half of the Donks' "insurgency", one half of the "civil war", who seem to be losing their foothold in Iraq....hurry up Donks, or folks will find out.

Thanks to the brothers at Iraq The Model we also learn that al Qaeda [Wahabbist Sunnis] are quickly losing support of the other half of the Democraps' "insurgency"...errr..."civil war" in Iraq.

"There is a mounting power struggle between insurgents and the growing number of Sunnis who oppose them in Anbar, the center of the Sunni insurgency, which stretches from Baghdad to the borders with Syria, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. The Anbar assaults came three days after Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, a Shiite, traveled there to reach out to Sunni clan chiefs in a bid to undermine tribal support for the insurgency."

The "reaching out" seems to working, PM al Maliki.  Thank you, Sir.  You're getting better!

Iraqi Shi'ia turn against Irani Shi'ia!  OMG!  Iraqi Sunni turn against al Qaeda Whabbi Sunni!  No wonder the Donks are hurrying to turn up the heat.  If you don't, we might just win in Iraq!  Then where would you be?

    Hey, cool. God Bless Al Gore, the internet will save us yet!

    The deal with Al Q is this (IMHO): The Mob can only have one boss. One Capo da Capo, one Don Corleone. Ultimately the mafia mentality that is prevalent in the ME will result in internicene fighting.

    My take on the genesis of this is pretty straightforward:

    (1) The middle eastern peoples are very xenophobic. They don't like non muslims of any stripe.

    (2) The defeat of the ba athists by the American military was humiliating.

    (3) The tendency to use Islam as the basis for social order leads to the rise of firebrand Imams who spur on the populace while raking in dough.

    (4) The sheiks, sunnis shia or otherwise have stayed on top through cunning and guile.

    So, while the ba athists and sunnis were dealing with the whacking we laid on them rabble rousing Imams (Janobi of Fallujah almost singlehandedly caused the need for our assualt of the city) demanded action against the infidel invaders. Al Q was well funded and total ruthless.

    But it didn't work. When fallujah fell in a matter of days the boys understood that they could not stand against us. They then hoped that the slow bleed strategy would work but we've countered every inovation they've developed.

    Now the sheiks are chosing a different vision of the future. One without Al Q. Since Al Q couldn't get the job done, the sheiks will get over their humiliation and move on. Meanwhile the Al Q guys are in a crack. No local support and no where to run.
