January 29, 2007 is going to be a very big day for the Fisher House Foundation and the Fallen Heroes Fund.  On Monday morning The Center For The Intrepid and two beautiful new Fisher Houses will be dedicated on Ft. Sam Houston's Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.  This last week is full of activity, as last minute preparations are made for the big day.  Yesterday an open house luncheon was held for volunteers and current residents of the two original Fisher Houses.  The residents were flabbergasted at the gorgeous homes, their beautiful furnishings, giant flat screen in the den, plush dining and library furnishings, and all of the accoutrments of the facility.  The children's playground is a small wonderland of tot-sized play toys of every description.  There is a separate cabana outfitted with a small kitchen, and plenty of room for meetings or a child's birthday party.  The two houses face one another onto an arcade that leads to the main entrance of the huge circular building housing state of the art rehabilitation equipment for injured soldiers. 

That's not the best part, according to some.  There are those who think the best part is that Senator Clinton is going to be there for the festivities.  Yep.  That's right.  I get to see the Shrillary in person.  Please pray for me that I don't have to get too close to her.  I'm not good at hiding my feelings, particularly contempt.  It's not nice to sneer at senators, I'm told.  That phony bitch and her partner (there is nothing about their relationship that suggests "marriage") depleted the military during their years as co-Commander in Chief, and she was behind the elevation of liberals like herself to higher office than they should ever have been near!  The Abu Gahraib general comes to mind, for one.  What a blemish on what is otherwise going to be a memorable and admirable day.
