Looking Ahead At 2007

Recently I was listening to a radio show as I drove home from church.  Peter Greenberg is apparently the travel guru for The Today Show, though you couldn't prove it by me as I never watch it.  His radio broadcast on Sunday morning from WOAI in San Antonio does have a lot of good information for travelers, yet he has a decidedly liberal view of the war.  That is to say, "what war?" or "terrorism has always been going on, get used to it!" mindset.  This particular day, Mr. Greenberg was telling his audience that he lives in the ultra-peaceful Tailand.  I thought about him when I heard about this story.  It seems that it may not be as peaceful as Mr. Greenberg portrayed it to be!  Like Mr. Greenberg, the entire country seems to be in denial of what is looking more and more like radical Islam mufsidun waging hirabah on the world!

"The military-installed government said intelligence pointed to politicians who had lost power, not Muslim militants waging a separatist insurgency in the far south, despite similarities of style.

"We could not at this stage pinpoint which particular group was involved," said Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont, installed after a bloodless September 19 coup toppled Thaksin Shinawatra, whose supporters he said might have been involved. "

If you stopped there, you'd say "what Islamist mufsidun?".   Couldn't be ordinary run of the mill terrorism like what they've been having in Iraq, that's all Bush's fault!  Right?

"We continue to receive reports that terrorists may be planning attacks against a range of targets, including places frequented by foreigners," it said.

Involvement of Muslim militants, whose insurgency has cost more than 1,800 lives over the past three years but has remained confined to the far south, was a "very remote possibility", Surayud said."

Did they really expect it to continue to be confined?  This is the sort of wishful thinking the left continues to wallow in, and that we must fight against in America!  America and Israel are the world's last best hope against this scourge of radical Wahabbists who are wreaking havoc on every continent in the world.  Thanks to the cancellation of Tailand's New Year's celebration, the mayhem was not nearly as bad as it could have been;

"Some were planted in areas likely to cause deaths — outside a shopping mall, in an open-air market — and some were not, like one in the parking lot of another mall and one at an intersection.

But two later bombs which exploded around midnight would have caused untold mayhem had New Year street parties gone ahead.

They were planted at either end of the broad stretch of road in Bangkok's upscale shopping district where the main party was to have been held."

As I look ahead at 2007, I am hoping and praying that the world stops with the political correctness crap, and admit that there are some Islamists who have declared a holy war on ANYONE ANYWHERE who does not believe in their sick perverted version of Islam!  Whether we asked for it or not, we are in a holy war, and I pray we do not come to this realization until after another attack like 9/11 or worse.
