God & Christmas

I just finished reading Anne Rice's newest book, "Christ The Lord, Out Of Egypt".  It's just like all of Ms. Rice's books, meticulously researched, and makes you feel as if you are witnessing the events.  It is totally UNLIKE Ms. Rice's books as well.  Ms. Rice's personal story of finding her faith sounds similar to mine.  Her life and history is much more extremely liberal than mine in some senses, it is also much more rigorously religious than mine.  She was raised in Catholic schools in the 50's, while I was raised in public schools in Southern California in the late 50's to mid 60's.  It matters not, the similarities and differences, other than the return to God is being felt all over America, even in formerly liberal/democrat circles .....hearts!  I highly recommend the book, especially her Author's Notes.

There has been a movement to rid America of all vestiges of our founding fathers' faith.  In particular, Supreme Court cases limiting our free expression of our Christian faith since the year I was born, 1947.  A racist, anti-semite, Catholic-hating Supreme Court justice named Hugo Black began the trend with several decisions, most notably his anti-Catholic Everson vs. Board of Education.  It's gone downhill ever since.  Between athiests like Michael Newdow and the ACLU, you would have expected God to be as dead as they want Him to be.  Those of us who know Him know better.  He is very much alive and well, and Christians have had enough of the left trying to take him out of our lives.

One successful witness for him is Jay Sekulow.  I say "successful" because he has beat the ACLUnatics at their own game.  The ACLUnatics have used "separation of church and state", which is NOT in our constitution, against us for years.  Jay Sekulow has argued several cases using "freedom of speech" in his successful arguments in front of SCOTUS.  The founding fathers guaranteed us freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion.  It's about time we put God back in our country, especially at Christmas!

Post Script; Don't forget to send your Christmas cards, with "In God We Trust" to;
