GOP, Get Busy!
To those of you who are still in office, including you losers, you have a chance to redeem yourselves. You may be lame ducks, but you have a few weeks to actually do what we sent you to office to do; confirm judges, confirm John Bolton, and make the tax cuts permanent. You may also want to rush the confirmation on Gates.

There is not much you can do about this, this or this, because you got to DC and forgot who you were, and more importantly who WE are and why we sent you there!
"One reason for hurrying Senate confirmation of Robert Gates as secretary of defense through the lame-duck session of Congress is to avoid confrontation with an old enemy: James Webb, who will be a Democratic senator from Virginia in the new Congress starting in January.
During President Reagan's second term, Gates and Webb clashed as colleagues. Webb as secretary of the Navy objected to plans by Gates, then deputy national security adviser, for U.S. warships to protect oil platforms in the Persian Gulf. The hot-tempered Webb made clear his irritation with the soft-spoken Gates.

Considering his background, Webb is likely to go on the Senate Armed Services Committee. The White House wants to confirm Gates before Webb is sworn in.
Stop being the spineless jellyfishes you have been for the past 6 years, and get something done! Do you really think that they have their hearing aids turned on Dagney? I'll bet they're so confused and demoralized that they won't accomplish a thing. And for them, not being able to hear is a plus.

Hello, resident pessimist checking in.
Chaffee has now gone over to the Democrats. He may not change his affiliation in the lame duck session, but he will most certainly vote with them.

Thanks, my favorite "pest" (short for...). If the "cut and runs" keep up their demands, Sen. Lieberman could change sides, and change the balance! It would not surprise me. He knows how important winning against the mufsidun is for America's future.
