Early Voting Is UP!

Hubby and I voted in our town's one-day early voting a week ago last Thursday.  We were surprised to see a LINE!  On the actual voting day we've seen lines, but NEVER in early voting!  I waited until early voting was over on Friday before I did any research on early voting numbers.

Most urban counties in Texas are showing a higher percentage of early voters.  In Bexar County, and other Texas counties the numbers were up.   As of last Wednesday they were up 15-20% in San Antonio's Bexar Co., according to local radio news.  In Memphis, the early voting numbers are "huge", and "voting in droves".  In Georgia;

"The number of ballots cast through early voting, which ended Friday, is expected to be the state's second-highest since advance balloting was first allowed. "

In Lubbock, TX the numbers are a record high.  In Colorado,

"Predictably, voters registered as Republicans dominant the ranks of those voting early or absentee in this Republican leaning county.  About 40% of votes cast in 2002, the last off year election in the county, were cast early or absentee."

Therein lies what I predict will produce statements such as this from Democrats;

"Bailey said he is "cautiously optimistic" that Democrats are going to take over the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate, based on the polls he has seen.

"I'm cautious about that because we've been bit before, especially in the national elections in 2000 and 2004," Bailey said."

It'll either be that, or "they stole the election".  My prognostications may just prove to be prescient, and I'll have to change the blog's name to Pollyanna's Rant.

  After all, "Whaddya mean I can't vote against Bush, Dude?" is not sufficient to get actual voters to the booth.  [I love my son's version of a lefty wingnut, don't you?]

    Ya know, they have been out there trying to make the case against the voting apparatus for quite some time in an effort to delegitimize any vote. What about if they win? Are they not legal?

    I hate this. They want to put crap in your head, and the Left-Stream-Media will do everything in their power get the rats into power again. This is what I hate. Just the facts, damn it. (Pardon me, but I really do not appreciate being spoonfed communism.)

    Many election cycles don't even get counted until after the vote! They have from 10-20 days AFTER the actual vote to count absentee ballots, and if they declare a winner? They don't even bother counting them, because they claim it won't matter.

    It won't matter? TO WHOM? That is why I always wait until election day. They hell with them all. I'm so fed up with them.

    Could we PLEASE stick to some cohesive issues? If I get one more phone call telling me how bad the other guy, I may lose my patience. I have been known to do this.

    I start letting them know exactly what is wrong with our team. hehehe. They don't care to hear it, but I give them an earful.

    Did I get off the topic? Oh darn, it's contageous...

      Rosemary, I too have told the GOP callers of all of my gripes about "our team"...strangely enough I'm getting less and less calls from them, except for the recorded ones. Guess they don't like hearing it, eh?
