How The Left Perpetuates Their Myths!
Michael, Senator Talent is NOT against stem cell research. Neither is President Bush. They both do not believe we should be using tax payer dollars to fund it. We have plenty of money in the private sector who are racing to find a cure for your disease and others, i.e. spinal cord injuries, and that is as it should be. Government should not be involved in anything other than national defence and protection...but that's a whole other discussion! What both Talent and Bush want to prevent is the destruction of embryos for their stem cells. Adult stem cell research has been shown to be far more effective in treating various conditions than embryos anyway!
That the left continues to beat the drum to keep abortion legal, and uses people like Michael J. Fox to that end, is despiccable, especially when it leads to lies like those in this ad!

I am glad to see at least that you do support some form of stem cell research.. I too am against using aborted fetuses for their stem cells and I have one of those diseases that would benefit from stem cell research.
Having MS, I can see both sides of this issue, but I do have to say for people like Rush Limbaugh to be assinine and actually accuse Fox of exaggerating his illness is not only insensitive but down right ignorant.
That would be like someone accusing me of falling down on purpose with my illness. Just ignorant, which there is plenty of on both sides of the political arena.

All Rush said was that he'd seen Michael several times (he's a Boston Legal fan) and he never looked like that, so he was either off his meds or acting. You have to actually listen to him to criticize him. As Rush said yesterday, Michael said in his book that he had stayed off his meds on purpose when he testified before the Senate hearing committee on stem cell research.
In order to be credible, a spokesman should not lie. And Michael's ads are a lie. Missouri Donks are pushing for a law that will legalize cloning, and has nothing to do with stem cell research.

At least Michael's meds are legal ones. Limbaugh can't say the same.

I loved him and even put up with his non-sequeters, but we just have to break up now. This last attempt, he lies to the people. It is not about him at all. They want to make it a constitutional right to CLONE people (see page 5).
This is unacceptable. I understand he is ill, and it breaks my heart. Just tell the truth. I do not appreciate being lied to and if you do it once, you will do it again. That's the end of our (non-existent) affair.

Ignorance must be bliss. Stem cell research isn't about 'Cloning' People. It's about finding cures for illnesses like the one I have to give us a better quality of life. I'm not for using embryos or government funding but by God get your facts straight.

Amie, get yourself educated. The law in question in Missouri has nothing to do with stem cell research, and everything to do with legalizing cloning.
Your crack (no pun intended) about Rush is a typical talking point from someone on the left. Rush Limbaugh's drug addiction came from a back injury and using the highly addictive and LEGAL oxycontine. You lefties think someone with an injury, cancer, whatever, should be able to smoke marijuana. But someone on our side, who is taking a legal drug should somehow be castigated. Typically hypocritical attitude from the left. What a waste to be coming from such a good brain.

Amie, where do embryos come from? What do they do with them? How do the get the stem cell out of them? What happens if they do NOT get the stem cell out of them? Hmm?
1. Embryos are the end result of a fertilized egg (by the sperm).
2. You allow them to grow in round (oh, shucks, what do you call those?) flat thing.
3. You kill the fertilized egg by removing it's lifeline-the stem cell.
4. If you do not remove the stem cell? There are different answers for this. You could place the fertilized egg into a woman, and then a baby will born. Or you could put the egg into any animal (which I've heard, but do not believe) you want.
Where did that stem cell come from? There is such a thing as adult stem cells. We all have them. They have all our genetic data in them already, and you do not have to kill anything to use them.
The stem cell does not need to be removed to grow from any egg, because they already have all the genetic coding.
BTW, there is much promise in the umbilical cord and adult stem cells. People are already being cured. Why don't you ask for more money for this, if this is your true concern? I wouldn't mind more research in that area. Have a nice day.

Petri dish! I finally remembered. If you don't understand what that means, that is because I could not remember it when I wrote a comment to Amie. Have a great day, Dagney.
