Rush Chides Negative Bloggers!

Rush Limbaugh expressed his irritation with Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit's use of the term "pre-mortem", and some other bloggers who seem to see little chance of GOP retaining control of either the House or Senate.  Glenn has a response to Rush here, and he's correct about some of the dumber than dumb moves made by our GOP legislators;

"Anyway, the point of my "premortem" wasn't to call for the Republicans to lose. Rather, after pointing out that a lot of hardcore GOP supporters expect them to lose, I wanted to note that if they do lose, it will be because of a number of dumb moves and dropped balls — "unforced errors," as I called them — that indicate that they've been taking their supporters for granted, ignoring their professed principles, and relying far too heavily on the old "The Democrats are worse" argument to rally the base, an argument that's clearly wearing thin. (As this guy says: "I won't be 'glad' if Republicans lose. I just think if they lose, they brought it on themselves.")

I don't think that Limbaugh would really dispute that the Republicans have made a lot of unnecessary mistakes and that this has cost them a lot with their supporters; at least I've caught his show a time or two in the past when he was making pretty much this exact point. My post was intended to be something of a wake-up call, and it appears, at least, to have gotten Limbaugh's attention. Whether the GOP will take the lesson is less clear. "

The GOP legislators, as I have often said, seem to undergo a spinectomy as soon as they arrive in Washington D.C., and they should be made to telecommute from home so that their constituents can bang on their office door when they do, vote, or say something stupid!

The point I do want to make here is where the rubber meets the road.  I am here to address the American people, voters in particular.  Maybe it is because I live in Texas, but I have more faith in you, my fellow Americans.  I believe you know what you would be voting for and against on the first Tuesday of November.  If y'all are looking forward to higher taxes, then you should vote for Democrats.  If you want to see our country continue to fight the hirabah, and against the mufsidun, then you will vote for Republicans.  If you want Nancy Pelosi to be 3rd in line to succeed to the presidency, then you should vote Democrat.

Democrats have given Americans nothing to vote FOR.  They beat the drum on why you should vote against all things "Bush", without remembering he's NOT RUNNING!  As I heard someone recently say, "Democrats hate Bush more than they love America".  Why in heaven's name would any American who is not a total moonbat want to vote Democrat?

To my fellow bloggers; stop with the negativity.  It isn't good for anyone!  Mr. Reynolds, I don't care if it's "wearing thin", it doesn't make it any less true.

    Ah, but then you're doing the same as the Democrats in that last section there -- explaining why you shouldn't vote Democrat. Instead of explaining why NOT to vote Democrat, I want to see reasons to vote Republican.

    Actually, I'd like to vote for someone who likes freedom and small government, but that's not an option today.

    I agree with Ogre.. You call for people to quit posting the negatives, but it's only negative if it's anti Republican?

    Negative is negative, no matter what side is doing it. I agree that there is too much negative, but don't be the kettle calling the pot black.
