Brain Food From The Bible
What struck me was the similarities to Israel's present day history. In his book "Fast Facts On The Middle East Conflict", Dr. Randall Price (prominent archeologist and ME historian) notes in a "Fast Fact" on page 98,
"Outnumbered and Outgunned: In the Six Day War, Israel faced the forces of eight Arab countries (Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, and Kuwait) and was surrounded on all sides by a total Arab strength of 547,000 troops, more than 2,800 tanks, and 957 warplanes. Israel had less than half the number of troops and less than a third of the number of tanks and aircraft."
Father Chuck (our Anglican Episcopal priest) retold a story he'd heard on a trip to ME about Syrian troops turning back when they saw "awful beings" hovering over Israeli troops. God's angels can look pretty terrifying to the enemy!
Considering the smaller number of people, word got out much more quickly in those days. We have so many methods of communication, and the MSM has had such a monopoly on what we heard and learned about what was going on in the world, until recently. Can you imagine what a different attitude there might be in the world if the media had told the actual story of the 6-day war, the reality of the numbers aligned against the Israelis? According to Brigette Gabriel, even ME Christians do not study the old testament. They have no clue that Israel is in the land God gave them eons ago!
Learning about the Bible is helping me understand what is going on in the world today. Now that's brain food!

It certainly is.
