A Few Things

Since I'm headed out of town on Thursday, and am going to be pretty tied up tomorrow (which is not to say I won't find time to blog), I decided it would be fun to throw out a few stories and comments in a wide range of things.  To kick things off, here's a story you may have received in your e-mail.  Sam Walton is spinning in his grave;

"Wal-Mart asks for, and receives, permission to join homosexual marriage group

Read "Wal-Mart Partners With Gay and Lesbian Group"

Wal-Mart, the largest retailer in the world, has asked for and received permission to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. The NGLCC is a leading promoter of homosexual marriage.

Although Wal-Mart has never excluded homosexuals from being employees, customers, or suppliers, the company wanted to be more closely identified with promoting the homosexual agenda. Wal-Mart is now a "corporate member" of the NGLCC, putting their approval on the NGLCC's efforts to abolish the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. A Wal-Mart vice president will serve as an advisor to the NGLCC, helping them promote homosexual marriage.

Wal-Mart agreed to give $25,000 to the NGLCC and to pay for two conferences scheduled by NGLCC. Also, Wal-Mart will give homosexual-owned businesses special treatment when making purchases. Companies not owned by homosexuals will be moved down the list. "

If the corporate honchos think this will make the left ease up on them, they sure haven't been paying attention! President Bush's attempts at making nice with the left, i.e. allowing Teddy (hic) Kennedy's authorship of the "No Child Left Behind" fiasco, etc. has only led to him being lambasted everytime he opens his mouth.  He takes the blame for NCLB, while Kennedy goes merrily along insulting and opposing him at every turn.  I would not expect the left to start patronizing Wal-Mart over this story.  When I was in Seattle (a city that makes L.A. seem moderate!) with my son, I put "Wal-Mart" in my Garmin Street Pilot and didn't find one for 68 miles!  French-owned Target, on the other hand, had SEVEN stores nearby.

From ridiculous, to more ridiculous is this story

"Will the politicization of “Dancing with the Stars” never end? As commenter MCDenver points out, Markos Moulitsas has already brought his peculiar brand of venomous rhetoric to this beloved institution. In a post last week, Kos wrote:

"This woman will be on "Dancing with the Stars". Make sure you vote against her if you watch the show (and even if you don't). She's Tom DeLay's friend."

The woman in question is the country-singing chanteuse Sara Evans. Delay wrote a letter urging support for her and Markos went to the mattresses. This, in a nutshell, is why normal people find the nutroots massively unappealing. They’re all rage, all the time. What are they rebelling against? Anything you got. For goodness sake, their leader even gets worked up over “Dancing with the Stars.”

I admit it; I have never watched this show.  I have opted out of "pop culture" ANYTHING after having lived a good deal of my life in Pop Culture Central a.k.a. Los Angeles.  What I find interesting about this story is the involvment of The Kos blog.  Anytime I see a story reference either Kos or Huffington, (I do not give them the privilege of blog links except those found in quotes I've referenced.  Google them.) I marvel at the fact that it is this type of group who are now running my parents' party.  The Dumocraps formerly known as Democrats has been totally overtaken by the Bush Derangement Syndrome.  It has taken charge of the "people's party".

UPDATE:  Alright, thank you Kos.  I phoned 1800VOTE-3 02, for Sara Evans...guess what, the circuits were busy.  Thanks, Kos.  You stirred what I knew to be the American Spirit!  LMBO!

Lastly, I want to thank Bob Eiger.  Mr. Eiger, you were under the gun on your ABC movie "Path To 9/11".  Thank you, Sir, for having the cojones to buck the Clintonistas and air the program.  I look forward to owning a DVD copy of both the unedited and edited versions...and why not take Rush up on his suggestion to include a discussion of Clinton et al, telling you why it should be removed from the airwaves?  That should be a real selling point.  By the way, include Lt. Col. Buzz Patterson in the discussion, would you please?

    Dear Dagney,
    You've got to be kidding. I'm too busy to care. I'm glad I never stepped foot into Wal-Mart, though. It's a cheap shot to try to get the dems off their back. Shame on them.

    Tom DeLay's friend? Really? Have they totally lost it? Oh well. Good! (I don't watch it either.) Have a great time!

      Rosemary, Sara Evans has starred on stage at most of Sean Hannity's Freedom Concerts, free of charge. Tom Delay met her this summer when he too attended Sean's concerts. She is uber-patriotic, and does anything she can for the troops.

      As for Walmart, we have two within 5 miles of us, and we shop there nearly every day.
