A Unity Message From Iraq
This is exactly what Mohammed did in his most recent post! He hit the proverbial nail on the head!Here's an example;
"What concerns me here while we are amid this continuous confrontation on the first front of war on terror is the world's position from this war. When I say Iraq is the first front in this war, I mean what I say and it's not a personal opinion but it's what the leaders of al-Qaeda have said and it's what the acts and intentions of terror-supporting regimes have proven through rejecting the democratic change in Iraq and siding with al-Qaeda to make Iraq fail by all means they have. Such regimes have been providing terrorism with financial, logistic and media aid showing clearly that their goal is one which is not allowing a plural democratic power from emerging in the middle east since that is also a common threat to both, totalitarian regimes and the ideology of terrorism.
Not only are countries around the world, with the exception of Australia and UK, refusing to admit there is a threat, many are actively trying to ignore all of the warning signals. The American left is trying to convince us that we should leave Iraq? What kind of moronic logic is that? Al Qaeda has proclaimed it the front in this war, but the Democraps are arguing that it isn't?
Mohammed takes it many steps further;
"Looking at how many free countries deal with this war disappoints me, their failure to form a united front to deal with the challenge and hesitation in addressing the magnitude of the threat has reflected negatively on us who have chosen freedom and pluralism and rejected totalitarianism and extremism."
Reader JD-Oslo explained why so many countries are disappointing in their response to the threat;
"...The MSM in Norway together with our socialist government is trying hard to put a lid on these things - as happens in the rest of Europe..."
As our President has been speaking in the past week or two, at every opportunity, Iraq IS the foremost front where we are confronting this enemy. An Iraqi understands this, but the American left does NOT! It matters not which of their leadership you choose to research, they're all going to sound something like Screaming Dean;
"You can't trust Republicans to defend America," Dean said. "Today we only heard more of the same propaganda from a desperate Bush administration worried more about its party's political prospects this fall than about how to protect America and fight and win the real war on terror. It's results that matter, and the Bush White House and its rubber-stamp Republicans in Congress have not produced results when it comes to keeping America safe."
The "real war on terror", Mr. Dean? Haven't you been paying attention? Even your buddies in al Qaeda know where the "real war" is being fought Mr. Dean! IN IRAQ!
Mohammed sums it up perfectly here:
"What concerns me here while we are amid this continuous confrontation on the first front of war on terror is the world's position from this war. When I say Iraq is the first front in this war, I mean what I say and it's not a personal opinion but it's what the leaders of al-Qaeda have said and it's what the acts and intentions of terror-supporting regimes have proven through rejecting the democratic change in Iraq and siding with al-Qaeda to make Iraq fail by all means they have. Such regimes have been providing terrorism with financial, logistic and media aid showing clearly that their goal is one which is not allowing a plural democratic power from emerging in the middle east since that is also a common threat to both, totalitarian regimes and the ideology of terrorism."
I doubt very seriously that the donks have any chance of taking over the House in November. It's clear that they just do not GET IT! They also believe the American people believe the way they believe...and I just do NOT believe that for a minute!

I just wish there were more people who read the net news, instead of that garbage they spew daily on TV...

Very interesting and accurate quotes, I think. It is indeed sad how all of these Western liberals, who prattle on so much about their freedoms, are so unconcerned when the first Arab democracy in history is so threatened.
I can see how these Iraqis are so frustrated. They read all these stirring books by John Stuart Mill and the like but when when the rubber hits the road it's "huh? what do I care about Iraqis?"
I have to think that some of it is old-fashioned liberal racism of the condescending variety. "oh those people can't understand democracy. They aren't ready for it"
No doubt winning will be difficult. Very difficult. It will be decades before we see victory.
But I can just imagine a visitor to the American South a hundred years ago despairing that Jim Crow would never be defeated.
Iraq is the front on the war on terror(or war on Islamic fascism, or whatever we're going to call it) whether anyone likes it or not. If we lose it there it's going to make winning it elsewhere infinately more difficult.
But the Dems? They don't care. They're just interested in political advantage.
