Today's Airport Security and Me!

As I said in a recent post, we breezed through security on our way to Erie, PA's Tom Ridge Airport.  I should have known our luck would not last.  I've waited to blog on this nightmare, but after our discovery today, it's time I got it off my chest!

We got to the airport very early so we could have breakfast with my husband's sister, her hubby and their eldest daughter.  After bidding them adieu, we headed for security which was nearly empty of other passengers.  Whether they were bored, or just wanted to do former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge "proud", I do not know.  What I do know is that they singled out my husband and I to do a ridiculously thorough search.  Here we are, two blonde-headed, blue-eyed OLD people are being put through a ringer by overzealous, or bored, TSA agents!

Not only did they take out everything in my husband's case, but dumped it all back in and insisted it must go through X-ray AGAIN!  Huh?  That was bad enough, but it was not until today we discovered what else happened during that TSA fiasco; they neglected to return my husband's checkbook to his case!  He's still cussing and stuttering about our treatment, and now he's turning the air a deep ugly blue as he calls credit card companies to close accounts for little-used credit cards he'd stored in the checkbook.

As I think back, I remember how I wish I'd had some pictures we took last summer in my wallet...pictures taken of me, my husband, with his sister [who is a long-time pal of] and Tom Ridge....no, I would not have used them, but I'd sure have been tempted to whip them out on these nazis!  [If I could reduce the pixels, I would post them here, but they take up the whole page!  Anyone know how to reduce them?]

You poor thing! Don't they know who you are? Twits. Some people just need a little adjustment...like popping that thing between their ears.

I sure hope you get in touch with all of your credit card companies, and tell them you are NOT moving! If they have your checks, they can change your address. Not to worry. Document when (what time and day) you call, who you speak with, which card it is, etc.

Then call all 3 credit reporting places. This way, if someone tries to get a card, they will be caught and hopefully prosecuted. I will pray for you.
