Grandma Goes To War

While pundits are writing off the Republicans in 2006, I can't help but look around and see very little that dampens my belief the GOP will lose very little ground in November, and may gain a seat or two.  The reason for my confidence is that Americans are stepping up to the plate to join our armed forces....including Moms and Grandmas

"Still, the transition from "girly-girl" to grunt has been bumpy for the Oro Valley woman, who hates dirt and loud noises and has a self-professed "aversion to violence."

"My friends laughed their heads off. They said, 'No way - not you!' " Fuca said as she prepared to pack her duffel bag for basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

Her Soldier son, Pvt. Thomas Labrador, who is based at Fort Hood, Texas, and now is in Baghdad, thought his mother was kidding, Fuca said.

"My son was like 'You're crazy. Moms don't join the military,' " she said of their chat.

"I told him a lot of Soldiers are somebody's mom, and he said 'Yeah, but you're MY mom!' "

I have a very strong faith in the American people, and I do not believe for one tiny second that the Democrat party has given even die-hard donks a platform, a cohesive message, or a succinct plan for how they intend to deal with the War on Terrorism.  I also know that most Americans realize the likes of al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, not to mention the rest of the Islamofacists world wide want to either convert us to radical Islam, or kill us.

If you take the pulse of America, you'll find she's alive and well and living in the hearts of her citizens.  So while you face the barrage of negativity as the elections creep closer (a mere 90+ days away!), I urge you to vote, and I urge you to vote for the party who is willing to continue to protect us.  It's easy to see that the GOP is that party.  The cut and run crowd, i.e. Nancy Pelosi, John sKerry, Cynthia McKinney, John Murtha [hat tip:  Michelle Malkin], et al, are not willing to do what it takes.
