Nothing official in the news, but rumors persist that Dr. Condoleeza Rice, Secretary of State, will be visiting "the region" as they're calling the Israeli/Hamas/Hezbollah activity now going on in ME.  Why?  So that they can "call off the dogs" in Israel?  I'd prefer to see Secretary Rumsfeld go instead, to ask what America can do to help get rid of Hezbollah and Hamas!  Don't you dare, America, insist yet again that Israel be the ones to "give in" or "give up land"!!!  Why don't we get it?  Look at the nature of the enemy, for God's sake!  [ht: Michelle Malkin who rants better than I do!] They are the same enemy coming after us, trying to destroy our efforts in Iraq!  Recognize and acknowledge the nature of the enemy, and you will see that Islamofacists take any backing down as a sign of weakness.  They see our great care of our prisoners at Gitmo as weakness!  This is their idea of "fighting";

 
"Masked attackers with heavy machine guns mounted on pickups slaughtered dozens of people in a crowded Shiite market area south of Baghdad on Monday, hurling grenades to blow up merchants at their counters and shooting down mothers as they fled with their children, witnesses and authorities said.

At least 50 Iraqi civilians were killed and dozens injured in the 30-minute military-style assault through the central market of Mahmoudiya, hospital officials said. The U.S. military said 40 people were killed and 90 injured in the incident.

Other local officials counted much higher casualty figures, and there were multiple reports that a second set of clashes broke out in the area later as darkness prevailed."

This could be our reality!  It has been Israel's reality.  These resourceful, industrious and successful people are yet again having to fight off the terrorism we are now faced with all over the world!  Don't call them off!  Let them finish their job!  Certainly most Lebanese will thank them

"The Lebanese Foundation for Peace, an international group of Lebanese Christians, made the following statement in a press release to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert concerning the latest Israeli attacks against Hizbullah:

We urge you to hit them hard and destroy their terror infrastructure. It is not [only] Israel who is fed up with this situation, but the majority of the silent Lebanese in Lebanon who are fed up with Hizbullah and are powerless to do anything out of fear of terror retaliation.

Their statement continues,

On behalf of thousands of Lebanese, we ask you to open the doors of Tel Aviv's Ben-Gurion Airport to thousands of volunteers in the Diaspora willing to bear arms and liberate their homeland from [Islamic] fundamentalism. We ask you for support, facilitation and logistics in order to win this struggle and achieve together the same objectives: Peace and Security for Lebanon and Israel and our future generations to come."
