7/7, 9/ll, And The Continuing Threat

While our lefty politicians and moonbats continue to deny the threat to America and the world from Islamofacists and giving them continued encouragement for their fight, the UK relived their nightmare of one year ago today.  Another plot is foiled, yet the left continues to denounce our efforts in surveillance.  Can our nation really be so split?  Or is the media coverage making it look like we're 50/50 on the issue of the threat against us?  I do not believe we are as divided as MSM would have us believe.

We are parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, cousins and friends of heroes who either are, or have been in Iraq or Afghanistan, or are related to or knew someone who perished on 9/11 in America, or 7/7 in UK.  We know that the threat is real, and is living amongst us.  The Muslim population in both Great Britain and America remains relatively silent in denouncing these acts.  What that tells me is that when they go to their mosques, they are getting a message of support, rather than denunciation of such acts.

Being ever vigilant, ever watchful, and ever grateful for the efforts our governments are expending on keeping us safe is the duty of us all.  I don't care what side of this issue you are on, but you must realize that people whose belief system tells them it is not only okay, but they will be rewarded for their efforts.  The world, even in the Middle East, has realized that the threat extends to them, and they are taking part in arresting the evil doers:

"The principal players are not in this country," he said, adding that the investigation has been ongoing for a year.

Hammoud, a Lebanese native and self-professed Al Qaeda operative, was arrested April 27, and admitted to plotting a terror attack in New York City, a senior Lebanese security official said Friday. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also said Hammoud claimed he was acting on orders from Usama bin Laden.

"I am proud to carry out his orders," Hammoud said, according to the official.

Hammoud, who claimed to be 31 and a resident of Beirut, said he had been ordered to live a life of fun and indulgence in Lebanon to hide his Islamic militancy, an official statement from the Lebanese government said, adding that he was instructed not to show any religious tendencies."

This mindset has been trained & ingrained from childhood in mosques throughout the world.  There is no country immune from it.  Bottom line; be ever watchful.

When this all started on 9/11, I knew that this wasn't going to be over in any 100 hours like Desert Storm's ground phase was. Like it or not, this is without a doubt a global war...and it will be much longer than WWII. Our enemy chooses to fight from the shadows and hide among the innocents to further their goals. We need to remain vigilant and show the world our resolve to further freedom.

If you think that there's no reason to continue our surveillance programs...re-think it pal! While I'm not a huge fan of having a police cruiser in my rear view mirror...it just makes me nervous, I'm damned glad they're out on the streets patrolling. I have nothing to fear from being pulled over except perhaps not having a valid inspection sticker or copy of those damned insurance cards in my glove compartment (actually, I've probably got about 18 months worth...just not the current one at times.)

I think that those on the left that are soooo afraid of keeping an eye on the shady characters that intend to do us harm probably have something shady going on themselves. Law abiding people have nothing to fear from the authorities...those who choose to break laws, well they probably deserve what might come.

See you on the high ground!

Great post. I believe when they take the poll on the president's job performance, they may ask something like this: "Do you agree we are on the right track or the wrong track?" This is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO opened to interpretation. I think we are on the wrong track. Why?

I want the State Dept. out of it! I want our men and women to be able to KILL the terrorists. No more trials. I want to go after them more vigorously. I'm sick to death of treating them with baby gloves.

Are you aware that France is being sued because they are not treating their prisoners as well as they were treated at Gitmo?! Outrageous!

    Again, great post.
