My birth state, Colorado, was being Californicated before I left a few years back.  I guess the trend has continued.  There has always been pockets of hippy communes in Colorado, but it seems their peaceful intentions have continued the recent trend of being not so peaceful!  The oh-so useless bureaucratic institution we commonly refer to as the Forest Service was performing its usual inefficient job in the most recent fiasco.
