Thank You's

I have some thank you's I've been meaning to write about, and today the President gave me another one I need to give.

First off, Mr. President, thank you for going to Iraq today.  The Iraqi people have been having a struggle having faith and confidence in their newly elected government.  Today, you gave them hope that they have an honest to goodness leadership, by your recognizing them in person!

Next, I want to thank Tom Delay.  Boy, it didn't take him long to clear out his office in D.C., or for the House to remove his site from theirs!  I called to tell him thank you after hearing his speech, and there was no one to be found!  This man was so effective in rallying our troops, that the left determined to get rid of him in anyway they possibly could, finally succeeding when an Austin partisan got an indictment, after 3 grand juries.  Mr. Delay followed the party rules, and abiding by his own high standards, elected to step down.  Unlike, I might add, William Jefferson, (D) New Orleans, LA.  Tom Delay rallied the troops, pushed the right buttons, reminded our GOP House of their responsibilities to those who put them in office.  Since his departure, they've all been like a bunch of wobbly-legged, spineless wimps!  Thank you, Mr. Delay, for your service to your country.  If you need any help in your endeavors "out of power" to re-insert some starch in the doughboys currently in office, please let me know how I can help!

Last, but definitely not least is Karen Hughes.  I've just finished reading her book "Ten Minutes From Normal" and there are a few things I want to thank her for;

1)   Thank you for confirming my instinct about your former boss.  I've always had the distinct impression, feeling, whatever you want to call it, that the one thing you can count on with this man, our President, is that he means what he says, says what he means, and never wavers.  I may not always like what he says, as in the case of the "guest worker" a.k.a. amnesty program he contends we need.  You taught me that it is an issue he had as governor of Texas.  Back then it was "family values don't stop at the Rio Grande".  Today it's, "family values don't stop at the border".  He does not waver!

2)   Thank you for firming up a more clear mental picture of Dr. Condoleeza Rice.She is amazingly brilliant, which we all know, but she is also likeable, charming, caring, and worthy of being our first female president.    I am more convinced than ever that I need to join the Condinistas!  How cool would that be to have America's first woman president a black woman?  So many complain that even India had Indira Ghandi, yet we've not had a woman leader.  There has never been a more principled, more brilliant, more amazing woman to come on the American landscape than our Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice.

3)   Thank you for reminding me of the one thing we can count on in life:  God.  Your experience on 9/11 and the days and months to follow, the one thing you steadfastly did, was to go to Him when you needed guidance, as did President Bush.  You cannot imagine how that is a comfort to the majority of American people who go to God in their own lives, and know the comfort and guidance He brings.

4)   Thank you for helping me to finally feel like I had properly grieved for all those we lost on 9/11.  I personally knew no one who died that day, as you did.  Your experience at Barbara Olson's funeral made me absolutely sob, and I realized I had never reacted with anything but shock and sadness.  As I sat there sobbing, I knew I had never properly grieved for all of those we lost that day.  I also realized I was sobbing for the world we lost that day.  The normal post-grief reactions set in after that; renewed anger at the evil ones who could do such a thing, and then the same grateful sigh of relief that George W. Bush was our leader during such a time, much as you did, and I'm sure still do.

I still have more to say, but I'll save it for later.  It was a great day for the GOP, and a really awful day for the donks.  You have to just love it!  I know I do!

    There is only one thing I would like to make clear to the other readers. She is NOT talking about the regular, everyday Democrat. She is referring to those in power.

    I know her to be a sweet and loving person. Don't tell her I said that, though! (lol)
