I've Got A Great Idea!

Joey Vento, of Geno's Steak's gave me a great idea!  In his business, he decided he wouldn't jump on the bandwagon of many businesses around the country and put up a "Hablamos en Espanol" sign.  Instead, Joey has a sign in his store that says, "This is America. When Ordering, Speak English."

Mr. Vento's family came to America in the 20's from Italy.  Back in those days, when people came to America their first priority was to learn English.  My own Swedish great-grandparents insisted their children speak English.  Many of us lament the fact the loss of being bilingual, but that is how it was done back in the day.  It was the best way to insure the success of the family in America.  In fact, Joey will tell you that he's 'trying to help these people'.  Visit him at this site.

So here's my idea.  Do you have a store?  A restaurant?  How about if we think up some signs you could put to encourage folks to learn English.  Here's one to start, "Help us to help you, speak English".  Got a suggestion?  Post it in comments.

Great idea. I do not have any suggestions at the time. Oh wait! Se, hablamos ENGLISH!

I understand it's a little on the rough edges side, but hey...La Raza wants to take my state. What do they expect?
